The results from our courses have always reflected the exam board moderators findings. Please click on the link below for sample course programs and costs.

Lowland Expedition Leadership

The Lowland Leader Award is administered by Sports Leaders UK. It is a level 3 leadership award recognised by the awarding bodies as a suitable award for leading groups on expeditions in the outdoors.  With a proven track record, EDGE-ucationoutdoors are the ‘preferred provider’ of LEL3 courses for many local authorities, voluntary and statutory organisations, Licenced Organisation’s, National Operating Authorities and Directly Licenced Centres of the DofE, delivering courses since its inception way back in the 1980s when it was known as BETA.

LEL3 is a recognised qualification required by most Licensed Organisations of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, allowing staff to train and supervise participants for overnight DofE expeditions that take place within ‘typical’ Bronze and Silver terrain, i.e. normal rural, open countryside, as indicated in the ‘The Handbook for DofE Leaders’.

John Muir Award

EDGE-ucation Outdoors are able to offer the John Muir Award to young people.

It can be completed alongside our longer Nurture courses or as an integral  part of the schools enrichment provision. There is no extra cost for this award.

The Trust's John Muir Award is an environmental award scheme focused on wild places. It is inclusive, accessible and non-competitive, though should challenge each participant. The Award encourages awareness and responsibility for the natural environment through a structured yet adaptable scheme, in a spirit of fun, adventure and exploration.
